area of study metals and jewelry
interests I am a metals artist and dog walker in Philadelphia, PA (I recommend reading
the book Dogwalker by Arthur Bradford). Most of my work involves weaving
copper wire and I have recently made the connection between my treatment of
copper and knitting and crocheting. Copper cable and wire are another fiber
that can be used the same way and you will see some crocheting and weaving
in my phage series. I have also taken up photography and my focus is on
patterns that I find in urban decay. All of my work is centered on patterns
and repetition that I find particularly soothing. Each sculpture I produce
includes an Eppendorf tube containing a sample of my DNA as a signature. | |
